Testing and Quality

At our manufacturers facility, designing and testing is an ongoing process. We are very proud of their testing results and believe the tests support our position as the ceramic coating leaders. Independent testing confirms the performance claims, and offers assurance to our customers that Turtle Coat Architectural Coatings will perform on their home. The manufacturer for Turtle Coat Architectural Coatings has performed extensive testing of Turtle Coat’s formulation.

BASF Testing
BASF is one of the largest and most respected chemical companies in the world. They are recognized by the slogan “We don’t make a lot of the product you buy, we make a lot of the products you buy better”. BASF has performed several rounds of testing on Turtle Coat’s formulation for the manfacturer.  As you can see, Turtle Coat Ceramic Coatings excels at flexibility, tear resistance, tensile strength, and breath-ability, and viscosity. Additionally BASF performed an accelerated aging test. At the end of the tests, Turtle Coat showed no visible signs of aging, cracking or chalking and was still an elastomeric product. 3m
3M Microspheres
Ceramic micro-spheres are excellent at blocking heat transfer. This study conducted by 3M measures the thermo conductivity of the 3M spheres against CaCo3. Turtle Coat Architectural Coatings utilizes 3M ceramics as the primary solid in its coating while CaCo3 is the solid found in traditional paint. As you can see, the ceramic spheres do a great job stopping thermal transfer. In contrast, the CaCo3 transfers heat and is highly thermo conductive. Click here to read more…
